I have a house to sell, what are the pros and cons of putting it up For Sale by Owner?

I agree with Benji Man. However, look at what the market is like in your area. If there are a lot of homes for sale and you do not feel that your home could sell quickly on the market then do not list it. Instead, be creative. Contact persons whom you believe are interested in buying a home. Invite them over in person to see your home. Try to negotiate a fair deal and the odds are greater than posting a home for sale with an agency or even by yourself. You can sell a home without advertising it to everyone. Many times when you advertise many persons inquire but are not seriously interested and it ends up working agianst you. Best of luck. Also, try posting it online or in ';Trade'; papers. Cons- legal documents galore, if in a stale market, hard to ';sell'; your place (becomes a second job then)
